NT First Home Owners Grant

In the Northern Territory, a $10,000 grant is available for first home buyers who are purchasing or building their first home. It must be a new home that has never been lived in or sold as a place of residence and there are no stipulations on the home’s value.

Eligibility criteria apply and include being 18 years or older, are applying for a first home owners grant in any state of territory for the first time, have never had an interest in a residential property anywhere in the country before 1 July 2000, are a permanent resident or Australian citizen, will be occupying the purchased home as their principal place of residence and will be entering into a contract to wither purchase or build a home in the Northern Territory.

The Northern Territory government have released a document to assist applicants in determining whether a building qualifies as a new home.
